Monday, healthy monday

After a relatively uneventful weekend (mostly due to rain thwarting plans), it is monday again.  Another week full of work, bootcamp, and maybe a few social gatherings.....maybe.  And while i have taken a lot of time/effort to becoming more healthy in a physical sense, i think i might be lacking in the mental sense of health.  So time to put some effort into that as well.  Healthy mind and healthy body.

I saw this quote today and think it is going to be my new mantra:
"I have made it a rule of my life never to regret and never to look back."
                              -Katherine Mansfield

Ironically there have been studies showing that "looking back" is bad for your health.
Researchers from URG discovered that remembering the past with regret or bitterness worsens health.  The study found that people's attitude to past events, present experiences or future expectations, influences their perception of health and their quality of life.
Cristián Oyanadel, who co-authored the study, said: "We have observed that when people are negative about past events in their life, they also have a pessimist or fatalistic attitude towards current events. According to what we have observed in our study, the most influencing dimension is the perception of the past. A negative view of the past is highly related to worse health indicators."

So in order to better my mental health, i'm gonna stop regretting choices.  I'm going to focus on the future.  And i'm going to stop looking back and worrying about the "shoulda, woulda, coulda."

Photo Dump

Sorry that it has been almost 3 months since a post...I've been busy....not too busy but just busy enough to forget to write.  I'm still writing blogs in my mind but they just never make them to paper.....er....computer.  I'll do better.  I promise.

So here is a photo recap.

Candace's Bachlorette Party-

Wasn't she a beautiful bride?

And then a baby shower for Q.

And this is what happens when you leave your phone unattended......
Larry, Mo and Curly steal it and do a selfie!
I do love my work peeps though.
:)

And then a WAY overdue trip to Detroit to see Jen and Glenn.

And while I was running around doing all of this, Taylor went to visit her dad and Sara and her brother James, and the twins, Gunnar and Grace.

And then, what do you do when it seems like your life is changing direction unwillingly and shockingly....and you don't want things to go from bad to worse?
You hang out with your friends, of course!
<3 my friends from work!!!

So it looks like we are having a good time.....and we are!
Hope everyone is having a good summer!!
