It has been a busy month

Let's face it...the start of a new year and you hit the ground running. You want to accomplish the things that you didn't last year.....So now there are New Years resolutions to keep, a new year and a "new you."

Me? I didn't make any resolutions this year. I just want to survive......
I know that sounds drastic but you know me, the drama queen, stressing about everything, wanting to be perfect. And in reality, surviving isn't going to cut it....i want too much. I want to be a good doctor, i want to be a good studier (although it makes me sick to my stomach that i have to study again), i want to be a good mom, i want to put my family before work, i want to make some extra $, i want to be healthy, i want to take time for me (yoga, massages, girls weekends), and i want to be there more for my friends.

That is wanting a lot!

Is it feasible? I sure hope so! I have high expectations! January is already a busy month and i can't wait to see what the other 11 months have in store for us!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

It is not like me to wish myself a happy birthday but i figured since i wasn't having a party or a celebratory dinner with friends, i could wish myself a happy birthday in the virtual world!
By the way, i feel so very loved with the emails, facebook messages, and texts today! :)

Rain, Sleet, and Ice- OH MY!

For the past week, Josh Marthers on News 2 at 5 am and 6 am has been telling us that there is a BIG storm coming to charleston and the south east. That there will be snow...lots of it. It was all people could talk about over the weekend- the BIG storm would hit sunday night...stock up on milk and bread, cover your water hose, cover your plants, etc. It made the people in Charleston hysterical and frantic!

Well, i woke up this morning at 5:30 and NOTHING. Not a drop of precipitation.

That quickly changed after i got to work though, with lots and lots of sleet and ice.
Taylor's school closed.
College of Charleston closed.
And of course all of the bridges are closed right now...no getting into or out of downtown.

The news is saying there are "dangerous conditions" and that people should stay home. Too bad i am already at work!!!

Key West Vacation

So about 3 months ago i had this crazy idea to get away for New Years. I would be off of work (had to work til the 27th and then off til the 3rd) and i felt that would be a great time to get out of town! I called my friend Jen who moved away from Charleston after she finished residency, and asked her and her husband to join us. She said of course!

And then we had to pick the destination. Some place warm. Some place fun. Some place not too expensive......nd we decided on Key West. Jen and Glenn had never been there. Berry and i had been there (each at different times- me during my senior year at Duke and him a few years ago with friends).

We found a bed and breakfast, they got a flight, we bought a ton of gas and drive 12 hours and thus our trip began!

Here are some pics from our trip......ENJOY!

The Garden House- Key West
HIGHLY recommended- not too expensive, decent breakfast, happy hour (free wine and beer) and a nice pool!

Happy New Year (from Key West Fl)

Happy 2011!
For my first blog of the year, i am going to show you my view from last night- I spent the evening at Bourbon St pub (on Duval Street, Key West).

So i have way too many pictures from last night but i wanted you to get a feel of the evening.....drag queens singing, hot 1/2 naked men (gay of course) dancing and doing flips, beads being thrown down from the balcony, 1000's of people trying to catch a view of Sushi being lowered in her Red Stiletto.
Great evening!
HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!
