Duke/Raleigh whirlwind trip

This past weekend Taylor and i took a quick trip to Raleigh.  She wanted to see Duke (where she spent 4 years of her life), wanted to eat as cosmic, and then there was this little concert that Taylor and her friend Haley were excited about going to.  I didn't care so much about the concert...but i didn't want the girls to go alone.....so i got to be their chaperone.  :)

 We left Friday.....drove up 95.
And had to stop at South Of The Border (aka Pedro's Playland)

But that stop was brief because we had other things to do: including eating at Cosmic and seeing Duke campus.  For those of you who don't know, Cosmic is a burrito place on 9th street, a few blocks from my Central Campus apartment.  The burritos are....legend.....wait for it.....airy.  I still remember the nights with my Duke friends eating there.  The 2am burrito after dancing at George's Garage, and even the time where the drunk guy was pissed in line and took the burrito in his hand and crumbled it!  And for some reason Taylor remembers it too....she remember the stairs you have to walk up to get there.  The smell of rice and chicken and cheese that permeates though the building.  The soft texture of the actual burrito shell.  And the amazing taste of the "Constance" burrito.  Rice, cheese and sour cream.  Simple.  Tasty.  And A-mazing.

Taylor and Haley enjoying Cosmic.....and Taylor decided to get the "deluxe" - basically 2 full burritos in one.  Good luck finishing that one Taylor!!!

Then a  quick visit to Duke...
 East Campus

West Campus

And of course we drove by Cameron, the Duke Gardens, and our apartment- 1700 Pace St Apt R.
Ahhh the memories.

Then on to Raleigh.....the girls broke off and waited in line for a concert.  They went to see Cage the Elephant.

This..................................................................................................................................not this.
(in case you were wondering)

So i went to the mall where i frequented as a young Duke student....

And then after doing a little shopping, I went and had sushi (and champage) at Sono, a sushi joint a few blocks from our hotel.

After a glass and a few rolls, my night ended and i turned in, waiting for the girls.  They got back to the hotel late(ish), and were happy, dehydrated, and their ears were ringing.  A perfect end to a good night.

And after a good night sleep, we got back on the road to Charleston.

Love my town...and my home....and my bed....and my pups.  :)
Hope y'all had a nice weekend!!
